Welcome to FR. While I agree that things are dire with respect to Obama, the REAL problem is our deluded fellow countrymen.
I am not so pessimistic but there is a certain truth in regards to demographics. White, Reagan Democrats are pretty much dead and gone. The Newt of 1994 is gone. The party has to appeal to a younger generation. We can possibly win 35 to 45 House seats to win a majority and gain 5 or 6 in the Senate in 2010. However, if the GOP governs on a weak platform and has no strong leader emerge by 2012 they are sunk.
