Er...it’s not even a tax cut. It’s a decrease in the withholding rate. We’ll still owe the same percentage next April. He’s such a fraud.
You should feel lucky.........
Two questions:
1) Far from being a “tax cut”, isn’t this mighty $8.00 a paycheck being financed as part of the stimulus (i.e. spending) money?
2) Doesn’t the budget that the Dems in Congress just passed, and Obama just signed, actually raise something like $980 billion in taxes over the next four years?
Good question Jim. They return $8 per week to us, and pass trillion dollar spending bills off to future generations.
To a brilliant economics major like Obama (/s), that make sense. It makes sense to his core followers too.
Go figure...
It isn’t a tax cut. It’s a withholding cut. They expect you to pay it back on April 15, 2010.
“How does an $8.00 per week tax cut lift anyone out of poverty?”
ANSWER: Very, very slowly.
that won’t even cover our tax increases here in California
The cynic in me suggests that $8/week will allow a lot of those poor folks to buy a couple more six packs of beer, or a couple of extra packs of cigarettes.....
To start with Jim, it isn’t a tax cut, it is a one time tax credit. Next year it the taxes will be back.
$8 a week is a movie ticket. A family of four can go to the movies once a month. That should give them enough “feel good” to risk starting a business so they can give Barack, Harry, and Nancy more money to redistribute to people that don’t feel so good. /s
See how it all works out??? :-D
