Climate change: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin acknowledges global warming is affecting her state But the former GOP vice presidential candidate contends gas drilling will help curb rising temperatures
By Kim Murphy | Tribune Newspapers April 15, 2009
ANCHORAGE Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin acknowledged Tuesday that global warming is harming her state but said stepped-up natural-gas production could mitigate its effects.
Palin spoke at a hearing before Interior Secretary Ken Salazar the third of a series he is holding across the country to consider renewed oil and gas leasing on the Outer Continental Shelf.
The 2008 Republican nominee for vice president said relatively clean-burning natural gas can supplant dirtier fuels and slow the discharge of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
"We Alaskans are living with the changes that you are observing in Washington," she said. "The dramatic decreases in the extent of summer sea ice, increased coastal erosion, melting of permafrost, decrease in alpine glaciers and overall ecosystem changes are very real to us."

I think it is, just agreeing with you.
If it is of course ;-)
perhaps
She just put me under the bus.....so sad.
Besides, she might just as well waste hot air by publicly bemoaning that night follows day because there is absolutely nothing mankind can do to change the diurnal cycles either.
You don’t think there are climatic changes? This is beyond doubt. The issue is whether they are man made or not.
The earth is cooling. She is addressing the belief of global warming, if not she should be more direct in her statements.
I agree with you. See my post #29
She said “warming”, when the truth is we are cooling.
She has always said that she is skeptical abot the claimed factor man plays. She also expressedly said that she want oil and gas production regardless of "green concerns", but makes the case for oil and gas production, saying that even those on the "green side" should be supportive of it. That's all her out-of-context remarks are all about.
We may be shorterm cooling, but are longterm warming.
Yes, she said:
Many believe that in order to mitigate these long term and systematic changes it will require a national and global effort to decrease the release of human produced greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. However, simply waiting for low carbon emitting renewable capacity to be large enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals for reducing CO2 that will be required under most credible climate change models, including the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) modeled scenarios. Meeting these goals will require a dramatic increase, in the very near term, to preferred available fuels - including natural gas that have a very low carbon footprint and that can be used within the existing energy infrastructure. These available fuels are required to supply the nations energy needs during the transition to green energy alternatives.

It is Sarah identifying these models as credible, not claiming that others call them credible.
No that’s a weather change. Climate change is different. ANd yes in fact for awhile the climate was warmer because the SUN is putting out more radiation
OK, but I was responding in the context of the Left, constantly attempting to obfuscate the issue by comingling terminology and effects.
Yes, climate is changing as well; in cycles we know precious little about, and over which we certainly have no control or influence.
The planet goes thru these cycles, we cannot control or affect them.
This is why conservatives like Sarah should avoid weak moments of compliance with socialist, pop culture and pseudo science. The leftist loons and Potomac farts will play this for all it is worth.
Pay attention Sarah. You are too important to get caught up in this nonsense.
There is no question that everything she says is true. Just look at satellite pictures if you doubt. The only argument is over whether it is influenced by humans and their behavior or not.
Gov. Palin needs to jump on this immediately to clarify these very confusing and troubling remarks. I had to read her comments several times and got a different interpretation of them each time I read them. Usually that means someone(read reporter) has done a “cut and paste” job on a news story.
If these comments are as the headline suggests, I would find it very difficult if not impossible to be supportive of Ms Palin in the future.
