Not sure I agree with you. In 1995, I was flying a plane back from Asia. Mid flight of an incredibly smooth flight, the plane fell over a mile. Many passengers were injured(4 ambulances met the plane). However there was absolutely no press covers whatsoever. The next year I picked up a copy of the book "Airframe" by Michael Crichton. The flight it described was so similar to what I experienced that I was shocked. In the book the cause was the pilot turning the controls over to a relative just for fun.
One time I was a passenger on a very small two-seater plane. The pilot tried to get me to take the controls and I had to scream at him not to do this.
It really is not appropriate to try and show someone how to fly unless you are not an instructor and they actually want to learn.
