Boerne is a very small Texas Hill Country town. It is a lovely little old town, and a nice place to visit to go "antiquing" , get good home cooking, and just enjoy a pleasant day.
Mr. basil and I decided that we would forego San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Houston--and go out to see ordinary small town Texans hold a "protest".
It was great. Mr. basil estimates that between 700 and 800 people were there in the town square. There were no big named speakers--just a couple of local conservative politicians, and a guy with a guitar singing a song he composed for today.
The crowd was spirited, and of course, very well behaved. We had some pleasant conversations with quite a few of the attendees, and found them to be your normal, average working class Texans who are very unhappy with Washington DC.
It was truly a lovely experience, and I'm really glad that we picked Boerne for our Tea Party.
