it will be too late That is language I normally associate with warnings

Yes, again according to the models.

you referring to the models which Palin says are credible?

Even those which are possibly credible ones (for man-made warming for example) will not work with what they want to do i.e. renewable energy.

I am an Alaskan conservative who has been pointing out Sarah’s pro-big government and Dem-kissing tendencies for a long time. I have based my opinion on what I see here and my contacts with conservatives in the Alaska legislature. I always get called a troll by lower-48ers who haven’t a clue. Well maybe some of you are getting a clue now. Sarah is for one thing, that’s Sarah. Three planks in her platform: me, me and me. If global warming and amnesty (as stated in her Univison interview last year) help one of the “me” planks it’s in. Big subsidies, higher taxes, wasteful spending, kill development, etc. etc.—sure, if it gets some good press. Conservatives can go with the pirates and walk the plank. Sorry Palinbots.

do a google search and you will see a long list of sites where she states she does not believe in global warming
and is bashed by Eco Wacko for her views.

As someone who worked in the legal field for years, I am use to doing research to find the truth.

Good Lord, some of you folks have no grasp on reality. She knew dang well who she was speaking to today. Although there were a thousand people at the hearing, she was trying to make a sale for her state to Ken Salazar, who represents the Obama administration.

How’s she gonna sell him, by pushing drilling in ANWR? She’s not stupid. She knows that would only close his mind to anything further that she had to say. So she tailored her sales pitch for her state’s natural gas, not on what she believes, but on what the administration believes.

Carbon footprints, greenhouse gasses, global warming - this is stuff that makes tingles go up the Obamunists’ legs. So she based her sales pitch to Salazar based on what she knows he will eat up, not on what she knows will turn him off.

She’s putting her state first, which is what she was elected to do. And she doesn’t have much leverage. If she can’t persude the Obamunists to buy Alaskan natural gas and oil, they’ll only be too happy to continue to buy it from the same Sheiks who pay protection money to the terrorists who want to kill us all.

Her sales presentation was a brilliant one. She made her appeal on the only grounds that the feds understand now. What was she supposed to do - tell Salazar that he and his boss are full of crap? Yeah, that would really work out well for Alaska, now wouldn’t it?

The price of oil and gas is low, and Alaska doesn’t have the money pouring in that it has enjoyed in the past. It doesn’t look like prices will rise much in the near future, and so Alaska just doesn’t have much leverage right now. Alaska isn’t hurting much compared to some other states because of some shrewd investments Palin made. But the state is burning through its savings at a rapid clip, and she’s always thinking about its future.

Palin has staked her political future on successfully getting the natural gas pipeline project off the ground. If she doesn’t make progress on it, and doesn’t get Alaska through the recession relatively unscathed, she may not get reelected in 2010.

She doing the smart thing. You think she still doesn’t want drilling in ANWR? Sure she does, but that’s a battle that wasn’t won even when the GOP was in power. Now the Dems are in the catbird seat, and she’s choosing her battles very carefully.

Palin is about the best hope conservatives have in the GOP right now to reverse its fortunes. Don’t turn your back on her. Just because she’s putting her state first doesn’t mean she’s turned her back on first principles. Like Reagan before her, she believes in fiscal responsibility, national security, smaller government and traditional values. This is what’s important, not one bloody sales pitch she made to Ken Salazar.

Chill, people. We’ve got almost four years of the most socialist bunch of Dems the nation has ever had at the wheel ahead of us. The Mobys and the trolls will try to make hay out of this to destroy her. Don’t let them get away with it. Don’t throw the babe out with the bathwater.

Yeah, that's what a lot of Freepers would tell her to do.

And she'd get about 1,000 votes in the next election as a result. Real smart campaign advice...not.

I have a great aunt and her family who have lived in Alaska since the late 1950s They don’t agree with you.

And you know she doesn’t believe in global warming, there are some ugly sites by the eco wacos bashing her for that.

Yeah, they're there. There's a lot of quotes for Romney taking both sides of issues too.

I get real suspicious when my radar tells me somebody is saying something based on political calculations.

Please provide direct quote. I don't see a quote from Palin saying that.

Not verbatim as Mojave said but pretty close:

"Simply waiting for low-carbon-emitting renewable capacity to be large enough will mean that it will be too late to meet the mitigation goals for reducing (carbon dioxide) that will be required under most credible climate change models," she warned.

Plus:

"The dramatic decreases in the extent of summer sea ice, increased coastal erosion, melting of permafrost, decrease in alpine glaciers and overall ecosystem changes are very real to us."

The whole sea ice, ice cap thing has been scientifically discounted time and again... as well as the glacier decreases. While some glaciers are decreasing others are increasing - as is normal.

I don't blame her for 'selling her state resources' - I blame her for either buying into the global warming premise or even worse, imho, using it in order to make the sell.

I don’t think you were on board to start with or you would understand what the adults on this thread are saying.

Sarah is for one thing, that’s Sarah. Three planks in her platform: me, me and me.

That was perfectly clear to most rational people in the lower 48 within 24 hours of her being named to the Republican ticket. I really don't get why so many FReepers bought into her scam hook, line, and sinker.

Palin has be streight on, many arn’t use to the Non flip flopers.

I worked for Reagan when he first ran for gov. at his headquarters, met him and saw him many times and when he was Pres.

Gov. Palin is the closest to Reagan as a Conservative
and can energize the crowds as he did.

Already commented on the first quote a couple of times above.

The second quote may not be all she said. She may have balanced it with other comments along the lines of what you pointed out. Certainly everything she said is not mentioned here. And you should know by now how the MSM cherry-picks, particularly to damage Palin on GW in advance of Oshama's carbon tax agenda coming up in Congress in the next few weeks.

If I were you and after everything you must have alrady seen about how they twist a whole lot of things about her and her family, her christianity, etc., I'd believe Sarah over what the AP reports about her.
