Apparently, others in the GOP are selling us down the road, as well.
When the honorable Senator from Texas calls to back Specter then somehow, we losing something like common sense...

-------------------------------------------------------------

Sen. John Cornyn says Republican Sen. Arlen Specter is the GOP’s “best bet” to keep his Pennsylvania Senate seat from falling into Democrats’ hands.

“As I survey the political landscape of the upcoming 2010 elections,” Cornyn wrote in a letter released by his office Tuesday, “it's clear we need more candidates that fit their states.
While I doubt Arlen could win an election in my home state of Texas, I am certain that I could not get elected in Pennsylvania.

I believe that Senator Specter is our best bet to keep this Senate seat in the GOP column.
A vote for Arlen Specter is a vote for denying Harry Reid and the Democrats a filibuster-proof Senate.”

----------------------------------------

When would Specter ever fillibuster a dem proposal?

“Because of the concentrated efforts of millions of Republicans all over America, Susan Collins (Maine) was reelected to the Senate, surviving a challenge once thought to be serious. She won, in large part, because she was able to drown her Democratic adversary in a sea of campaign spending made possible by donations from Republicans throughout the nation.”

Morris doesn’t know what he’s talking about. The only people who thought Tom Allen had a chance against Collins were his campaign staff and some of his family members. Allen did just about everything wrong in his run. He couldn’t even carry Democrat strongholds. Collins money made no, or virtually no, difference. Maine people of both parties like her and she won 61.5%-38.5%. Olympia Snowe has done and will do even better. There won’t be a conservative Republican elected from Maine in our lifetime no matter what the Right in other parts of the country do or try to do.

Spending money on right wing challengers to Snowe or Collins in Maine is flushing money down a rathole.

Something else for me to throw in the faces of the RNC money callers. I think they have stopped sending me mail requests because I send them back in the postpaid envelopes saying “no modey to the R-commies Snow, Specter, Mchagar”.
