That's what I did. The Acrobat document was an image and I couldn't copy/paste the text, so I retyped it in HTML format. The PDF document is in version 1.5, which means that if you have Acrobat Reader 6.x or better, you should be able to read it.
The reason Portable Document Format is a good idea is that your document looks the same to everyone, no matter what program you used to create it. You can combine multiple documents from different formats into a single file, and the end user doesn't have to have a copy of your word processing program to see what you wrote. In the future, if you have problems reading Adobe Acrobat PDF documents, please click here to download the latest Acrobat Reader for free from the Adobe website. And I will continue posting links to PDF documents if they are the source of the article.
While you retyped it, and we thank you, the link was to a pdf file instead of to an html page.
I am not debating the benefits of the format, I am stating simply that linking directly to a pdf file is a bad idea - for numerous reasons. My version is fine, and if you know enough to attempt to educate me on pdf then you know that there are multiple versions, multiple browsers, and that in the end the worst element of pdf format is that acrobat is a memory hog.
However if you think dropping a link to something that will stop most computers dead cold for 30-90 seconds if they don’t already have acrobat open is a good idea, then by all mean, be that guy.
