Good question!! I was wondering that myself, especially since Drudge has a link up now:

If the Times is now reporting on it its fair to say its legit.
It was never posted to Breaking News. It was put in the Activism sidebar, but that sidebar is reserved for activism events such as Tea Party planning and the Walter Reed weekly Freeps.
