From the report, p.2: Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely.
Favoring states rights over Federal authority on certain issues is a sign of extremism now?!?
I guess it's a predictable tactic of an extreme leftist administration to brand people espousing absolutely mainstream American ideas like federalism as "exteremists". Still not quite to 100 days, and already the 0bama administration has reached unprecedented lows. I guess Fred Thompson is an extremist now, along with millions of other Americans.

This is not much different than Clinton using the IRS to go after his political enemies.

The Fox story has links to both the "Right Wing Extremist" and a "Left Wing Extremest" document. Apparently in the eyes of DHS, the Left Wingers are nonviolent and only interested in cyber disruption. {eye roll}

We can use this to turn the tide against their desired outcome......I propose that all Tea Partygoers march to the local police station and turn themselves in as guilty of subversion. If everyone asks to be arrested for the crime of patriotism, the system will go on overload and this sham will be exposed for what it truly is.
People are fed up - it isn't going to work this time.
It would literally be like a ship flying the flag of a nation other than it's own, then attacking a third nation's ships, in order to incite a war between nations two and three. An even more common variant would be for nation A to fly the flag of nation B on a ship used to attack one of it's own ships, so as to provide a cause for war against nation B, without looking like a naked aggressor.
Pirates also often flew a false flag, but generally ran up the Jolly Rodger, or whatever flag they fancied to ID themselves, once they had closed to "point blank" range, or even boarding distance.

I’m pretty sure if there was a complete breakdown of the financial system it would not just stop with the financial system. I think the repurcusions would go way beyond that, probably where most of us would rather not go. If that could be avoided then I’m all for it, I’d rather keep the banks going and clean out the system by voting out scum like Barney Frank, Dodd, 0, Acorn, and the rest of the parasites that poisoned lending practices. Alot of people think banks are just in the business of mortgages, there are all kinds of businesses banks are involved in that are very profitable and still profitable, subprime was the toxic time bomb that has destroyed bank earnings along with mark to market accounting. To just blame banks is an incredibly myopic view as there are a multitude of guilty parties, besides the political whores I just mentioned there were the rating agencies, appraisors, and in the end the consumer.
Then who are the 7 MILLION people who have bought guns just since last November. And not all who bought guns show up in that list. Some bought a used gun, some bought a new gun, from a legitimate dealer, without having to undergo the background check, by virtue of having a CHL/CCP. (Not all states' license procedures allow for that).

Even October 08 sales were up over the previous year, but just not as much as the months following the election.
That may well be. But this time, their oppostion is much better armed than they are. Not as organized, but that could change, and quickly.
