President Barack Obama is taking a stand against "the rise of privacy'' in the Indian Ocean.
Say what?
The president clearly meant the "rise of piracy,'' but his brief statement on the rescue of the American container ship captain held hostage by Somalian pirates came so quickly today that he didn't stop to correct himself. He did note, however, that those "who commit acts of piracy'' must be "held accountable'' for the crime....
(snip)
We'll hand one thing to the White House's stenographers, however. Whenever former President George W. Bush tripped over his own tongue, which happened with some frequency, the official transcripts proved true to the words.
And with Obama, less prone to the trip of the tongue, the same holds true in the transcripts...
"And I want to be very clear that we are resolved to halt the rise of privacy [sic] in that region...."

It was correct the first time.

That's not a gaffe, its a Freudian slip!! It reveals his deepseated desire to end “privacy” (ie: individual capitalism) and install socialism (no privacy-one for all, all for one utopia).
Only the few anointed ones will have privacy.

halt the rise of (piracy) Even if he had gotten the P-word correct, the key word here may be "rise".
The Obamunnist is only concerned about the rise of piracy.
Evidently he believes a certain baseline level of piracy is healthy.

When I asked Kerry what it would take for Americans to feel safe again, he displayed a much less apocalyptic worldview. ''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' Kerry said. ''As a former law-enforcement person, I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling. But we're going to reduce it, organized crime, to a level where it isn't on the rise. It isn't threatening people's lives every day, and fundamentally, it's something that you continue to fight, but it's not threatening the fabric of your life.'' "Why can't I just eat my waffle?"

My thoughts exactly!
From another thread
Headline
Obama pledges to fight piracy
Body of story, first sentence
President Barack Obama promised Monday to work with other nations "to halt the rise of piracy"
Thems two different animals thar news slanter extraordinaire AP.
Obama "promised" to talk about halting "the rise of piracy", not to fight it and bring the incidences down.
Big difference between what Obama said (yap yap yap, like his new dog) and fighting piracy.
Nice words to appease your useless idiots "Present" Obama.

Clearly the 'count' is in on Bush; Obama of course, they do not even bother. Bush was never in the 'habit' as per Obama; who is inclined to ramble incoherently. . .stringing words together for fill; confident his 'nonsense' will never be held accountable.
His staff less confident; of course; and so they hired TOTUS. . .
(. . .imagine had Bush. . .nevermind; just the thought is painful.)
