A robber who walked into the Columbia downtown Alcoholics Anonymous center, pulled out a gun and demanded money was killed in a burst of gunfire from an AA visitors gun, police said.

He chose poorly.
Well duh! That's why it's call Alcoholics Anonymous!
“at night we review our day, had we been selfish? or shot anyone at the club?..we ask our higher.....”
....thanks USShadley....that’s one of the funniest comments ever!

Robber didn’t stop to think people who gave up drinking just may be a little edgy.
BANG! BANG!
Hi, Bob!
That's Beautiful! Thanks for the laughs!
I didn’t think they allowed “shots” at an AA meeting.
I’m with you. I love happy endings too.
I hope they still ended the meeting with the serenity prayer.
Correct. You have a bunch of pissed-off people who can never
drink and your going to make them mad.I’m surprised they didn’t tear him apart.
“give me what you got”
He got it.
This is where the gun-grabbers would try to argue that a known alcoholic shouldnt be given a concealed weapons permit.
“Well duh! That’s why it’s call Alcoholics Anonymous! “
Indeed. You know the top wasn’t mine right?

with one change “and shoot those who trespass against us..”
Your mixed up... the trespass thing is in the Lord’s prayer not the serenity payer.
Remember that every time you kill a dangerous, armed criminal, you are saving the taxpayers $1M that would have to be paid to try his case in court and put him in prison.
“No doubt! That show was pretty ridiculous. The one good thing it might have done was prompt more training.”
I forced myself to watch to learn what these gun grabbers were up to. But I couldn’t make it to the final because I found myself becoming increasingly nauseated at all the propaganda I was viewing. It was BS. And they tried to pass it off as a legitimate study.
Their point seemed to focus that only police were able to react proper, and even with all their conditioning and training, even they sometimes didn’t react properly under fire. so it is foolish for a citizen to even try to protect and defend himself in the situations they presented. The school shootings etc. A full load of crapola pierced with propanda based on their bogus biased gun grabber “study.”
Since you watched, did you ever see any segment during the show which showed where a citizen successfully defended his/herself with a gun? We know it happens all the time.
I love when some people sing the chorus that alcoholics and addicts should be locked away and the key forgotten about ...
Suddenly they are hero’s to the same individuals when they prevent an armed robbery ...
Hypocrites ...
As for the outstanding AA member/visitor, good shooting. I do not know what kind of bad situations you created while using/drinking, but you’ve definitely made amends for it.
To all the liberal wimps, and gun control sissy’s, up yours. I can only begin to imagine the crying and complaining they are going to do.
Humans and violence go hand and hand ... Violence being a bad thing is taboo ... Throughout history violence has been used for both good and bad ...
If I’m ever in the process of being robbed and I can do something about it, I’m gonna try my hardest to kill the said perpetrator.
Finally a side note, for the misinformed or ignorant:
AA and NA are separate but the members are sometimes interconnected. Both programs are based on a 12 step program to become sober. AA meetings tend to have better organization, thus many NA members choose to visit the local AA chapter than the NA. I have no idea why this is, but I’ve seen this first hand in the Baltimore MD Region, and the Gettysburg/York/Harrisburg PA areas as well. Many alcohol and substance abuse counselors recommend you attend either type of meeting ... Alcoholics show up to NA, and addicts show up to AA.
Oops!
I was on my first cup of coffee when I posted that.
Semper Fi to you too FRiend!
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, that show was hard to watch...I felt like throwing stuff at the TV and of course they’re not going to show anything that might be POSITIVE about Americans owning and carrying their own weapons.
There’s a great column that appears in the back of The New American every issue called “Exercising their Right” that has several different stories EVERY TWO WEEKS if ABC ever wanted to research...but uhhh fat chance of that, eh?
There was a part at the end of the show where they sent this kid (his sister was killed at VA Tech) going into a gun show with $5,000 and buying up all sorts of arms and how astonished they were that “no one asked him questions”.
Then my husband and I were talking about how criminals probably don’t buy guns at gun shows, much, anyway. They don’t want to spend that kind of money.
