Exactly. I’m hoping the true republicans will bring it back and slap down the mentality that we have to cow-tow to the liberal-think or we’re gonna lose. We lost because the republicans did just that. Now they’re talking about “getting back to their roots”. I heard that and I just wanted to puke. NO DUH! is all I could think.
The last thing the republican party needs is another “maverick”. They can start there and I tell them that everytime they call for more donations, which is usually on average, once a month.
So much stuff and nonsense. It was my fervent hope that upon losing the election, the Bakerites would be swept from power in the Republican party. But the old moderate leadership has been replaced by the new moderate leadership.
SOSDD.
I abandoned the Republican party in midsummer 2007 after 27 years of loyal and active membership. With the leadership that is now in place, the Republicans having made their choices, I will certainly be joining the AIP.
And I will work locally and nationally to bring my friends and network to the AIP's aid... Those friends and that network, by the way, having once been fully Republican, but which does not have a single Republican member anymore.
A house divided cannot stand. The Republicans can go their way without Conservative support. And it is the way of the Whigs.
