I am suprised he didn't walk out on the water and lead them to safety. Maybe parted the water.

I dunno, boss. One conjecture I read indicated that ROE may have changed when they began towing the boat.

Uh, we do approve of Rules of Engagement, don’t we? Or do we want to toss them out and replace with “Fire at Will”?

I have no problem with setting the rules of engagement. It is standard practice. I just don't understand why it needed to be done twice if the reports are accurate. Towing wouldn't affect them if they are as stated, i.e., take immediate action if it is believed that the Captain's life is threatened. From what I have read, there was no change in the ROE, hence the question why issue it twice.

Your response indicates you don't know the answer either. Too much conjecture, too little facts. We'll find out.

Too much conjecture, too little facts.

I said that very thing yesterday on the breaking thread. Glad to agree with you.

What seems to be missing from the comments is if the good Captain would have been killed it would have fit Obama’s agenda much better. You can pretty much guarantee his staffies had a real suckass message all set for the teleprompter. Now the staffies are scrambling to put together something that will insire the kooks. Maybe sending pizzas to Somalia is a coming thing? The captured pirate “supposedly” to be charged is 16 yrs old; Maybe an opportunity or alternative school for him. He will end up going to college here in the US using your nickel before too long. The Obamas are upset they missed out on conjuring up 3 track scholarships for the now deceased pirates.

My sister and her family go to church with the Phillips’

Why am I not surprised to read that the Phillips are a church-going family.....?

I can see that this family represents the best of America, old fashioned as that may be.

That incident was the first thing that came to mind when reading this thread.

What is it about Democrat presidents ? Too much brain-washing that playing with guns is "bad" ?

Liberals and Democrats have a long-standing inability to confront evil.

Look carefully at how Democrat presidents have handled foreign aggression and evil dictators (going back to at least Truman), and you'll see a clear pattern of cowardice and fumbling attempts to negotiate with, or to placate our enemies.

This mental illness isn't confined to the US, either. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain comes to mind. I believe that people with arrested mental development are attracted to, and remain staunch supporters of liberalism. We've often commented that it's a mental illness, and so it is.

That other famous British Prime Minister, Sir Winston Churchill is credited for uttering the phrase, "“Find me someone at twenty who is not a liberal and I’ll show you someone without a heart. Show me someone at forty who is not a conservative, and I’ll show you someone without a head.”

Liberalism essentially holds a theoretical model of life above reality, while conservatism holds reality above all theoretical models of life. Especially those that have been proven to fail, time and time again (like Socialism).

Conservatives simply realize that real evil exists in this world, and that it must be resisted and fought to advance the cause of survival for all. That's confront, and it's why our nation and the world prosper under the leadership of conservatives.

Liberalism essentially holds a theoretical model of life above reality, while conservatism holds reality above all theoretical models of life.

Remember that old canard " A conservative is a Liberal who's been mugged?"

Conservatives simply realize that real evil exists in this world, and that it must be resisted and fought to advance the cause of survival for all. That's confront, and it's why our nation and the world prosper under the leadership of conservatives.

This explains why those who are conservative, are disproportionally, also religious.

Thanks for a food-for-thought-post.

I think the basic problem with both Clinton and Obama is narcissism. It’s all about them, all the time.
