Wonderful. Thank you. Capt. Castellano is also heroic (captain of the USS Boxer).

USS Bainbridge

Commander Frank Castellano, USS Boxer, and Capt. Phillips

Thank God .. for all these heroes and this joyous Easter rescue.

Sounds to me like they raided it. One pirate had already apparently left the boat and gone to the Bainbridge on his own volition. I assume the knock that the other pirates heard was mistaken for the knock of the returning fourth pirate. Surprise, it was SEALs.

Navy Vice Admiral Bill Gortney says Richard Phillips suffered no apparent injuries during his ordeal inside a cramped lifeboat where Somali pirates held him. Gortney says Phillips was “tied up inside the lifeboat” over much of the past six days.

Gortney says Navy Seals and other armed snipers aboard the fantail of the USS Bainbridge opened fire when they drew aim at the pirates’ heads and shoulders.

Gortney spoke to Pentagon reporters in a telephone conference call from Bahrain. He is the commander of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command...

joyous indeed. Brings back memories of the joyous Easter rescue of 2003 when two Apache pilots and others were rescued in Iraq. Happy Easter. God Bless our military and our America, their home.

Gee, golly whiz, I’m posting in response to attacks from about eight different posts, and I’m supposed to obsess about spell check? Meanwhile, you are making an authoritative claim that when the captain jumped overboard a few days ago, any rescue attempt was blocked. Methinks you need to worry less about my spelling and more about your propensity to pull authoritative statements out of your arse. And given that plenty of posters, both new and old-timers are agreeing with my criticizing the knee-jerk posts on this thread, it seems that plenty of folks think posters like you are the problem here - not me. Posters like you give Dem operatives the ability to paint all conservatives as deranged in their hatred of Obama.

Good for you. That means there will be at least two of us.

Yes, thankfully there are more than just two! And lectures are always forthcoming when we don't follow the leftard playbook for us.

Some on this site have become so bonkers with Obama hatred that they can no longer tell a good decision from a bad one. Just a Democrats became bonkers with Bush hatred.

Amen to that. I remember the early days, where we were so consumed with Clinton that we'd buy every last conspiracy theory about him, no matter how insane. Some of us learned from that. Others apparently never did.

Notice how the media goes on non-stop about Governor Palin and her extended family.

But when this headline emerges; “Obama half-brother ‘linked to UK sex attack’”.............

...........not a peep out of the media - of course.

So maybe we should change the subject to the more salacious headline. After all, the rat party and their media would do it in a heartbeat and will continue to do so any time it gives their side an advantage.

All 3 pirates poked their heads out. Dumb move on part of pirates, lucky for us!

You will not see me praising him for this, no matter what his official statement today said.

Alrighty then. I am praising the US Navy, all other branches and groups involved in the safe return of the entire crew. Becoming so bitter and jaded that we can not celebrate a victory for the United States of America seems unbecoming to the conservative movement.

As an Air Force Vet I will say the Navy is the main arm of our “local” world-wide defense. Actions required such as this take years of training and a maximum amount of trust to carry through. A mission performed without flaw.

The Bainbridge picture in your is decommissioned. That one is a CGN. The new one is an Arleigh Burke DDG.

This is ONE incident, one man rescued, many still held hostage and pirates will continue to attack, let's see what the One does going forward. Even the Admiral today said the ultimate solution is still on land and added that 130 or so have been taken into custody and tried and it has had no effect to deter them.

If Obama’s solution is do no harm unless hostages are in danger, pffft.
