You need one live perp to tell US the story of who is behind them, finances them, locations. Sounds like a SEAL deal

Yep. Wait for the one sissy to cry out, 'Don't shoot I can't take pain!' Then kill the others and save him for interrogation.

Some poster is saying they had to train for a couple of days before heading to the area.

That is speculation on my part. An enclosed raft is not the easist tactical target if you are trying to safely rescue a hostage. If there was sufficient time to do a couple training runs, it would make sense for them to do such.

They were ready to rescue the Captain the first time he went overboard, but were not allowed to get into position until later.

And your proof of this is?

I just heard one of the crew say that was the Captain’s plan all along ~ to jump off the lifeboat when/if the opportunity presented itself.

And the crew must have communicated that to the Navy. I want to know why they didn't act the first time he jumped off the ship.

Maybe they’ll go easy on the surviving pirate if he spills the beans about the piracy operation.

I wonder who will get first honors of interviewing the pirate after that?

You seem to be assuming a lot without the facts.

Funny, you are the one engaging in rampant speculation about the lack of a response to the first escape attempt.

You mentioned that the hostage takers had run out of ammo, yet CNN is reporting there was a shootout during the final moments of the rescue. Which is it, fact man?

Another article on this thread said the captors had run out of ammo. We'll probably have to wait a couple days to get a clearer story. But I have differentiated my speculation from what I have read from news sources. You're just pulling claims out of your nether regions.

The odds of the captain getting a second chance to jump out of the enclosed lifeboat would be anticipated to be slim to none.

ALL of Obama’s history would suggest Obama saw the negotiator as the only viable way out of this mess.

Ok “President Obama”, now save the other 200 hostages.

You obviously don't have a clue about how Special Ops and SEALs operate.

I do know they will train for a specific operation if given the time to do such. The world ain't 24, where a tactical plan is developed in 15 minutes.

It's outstanding news,” Adm. Greg Smith of Central Command said. “We got the captain back, which is the outcome we wanted to see happen, his safe and secure return.”

Smith said Capt. Richard Phillips of the cargo ship Maersk Alabama was rescued in a brief firefight with three hostage-takers, who “died as a consequence of their own actions.’”

“Regrettably, three pirates made a choice that ended in the loss of their lives. One did not and is in our custody and will of course be treated responsibly and held responsible,” said Smith, adding that a news conference was being planned in Bahrain to provide more details about the operation.

Smith suggested that the three Somali pirates who were with Phillips fought back, and that the fourth pirate was not injured because he was part of a negotiating team and was not in the small lifeboat with Phillips and the others.

The rescue most likely was carried out by a specially trained team of Navy SEALs or other special forces, who were in the region as part of the U.S. government effort to free Phillips. Central Command was in charge of the operation because “we own the geography” in which the hostage taking occurred, he said.

Phillips was rescued at 7:19 p.m., the commander of the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, 5th Fleet, confirmed in a statement.

Gortney provided little detail of Phillips’ rescue, but his staff said a news conference was planned for later in the day.

Phillips’ ship arrived Saturday at Mombasa, Kenya, its original destination. After today's rescue, nine crew members came to the rail of the Maersk Alabama, pumping their fists in the air, setting off flares and tooting horns. One was wrapped in an American flag.

“He's one of the bravest men I have ever met,” one crew member shouted down to reporters about the captain. “He's a national hero.

“Tell the president to get those guys,” he said of the pirates.

IMHO, blasting someone like ozero any time,any place who has lied about every campaign pledge he made and is hell bent on destroying America at almost every level whether it be politically through little tricks like acorn or failing to let congress even have tome to read bills or economically like the budget fiasco, tarp, or trillions in stimulus somewhat less than knee jerk hysteria.But that’s just my opinion.

That’s what they just said. He had to have ordered it after he must have known the Captain was going to make another escape attempt. Obama must not have been ready on the first escape attempt

~~~
Aaah .. now I see. After all, he is The One .. The Dear Leader .. and he must also have telepathic connections to everyone, everywhere. Jeeze ..
He probably Bzztt-ed Capt. Phillips brain, and he jumped again after 0 got back from his poll winning church. I missed that.
What delusional tools .. LOL.
That is speculation on my part.
Well stop that right now and get your mind right. Invent the most bizarre scenario you can that shows Obama constantly plotting the overthrow of the Republic. Post that then bask in the love.
This place is gone plumb loco. I'm gonna go cut the grass that I missed yesterday.
