Very few media outlet are going to cover the tea parties to begin with. Why do you think that the liberal media (i.e. 90% of the media) is going to cover these parties with or without this pirates situation?

Fox news has the highest ratings amongst the news channels. Even they would be forced to cover the pirates if something happened. Obama has learned about the news cycle and how and why to manipulate it.
