Regardless of how the captain is saved, the idea that piracy is a paying life style has to be ended. The easiest way to end the pirate problem is to pay ransom on all 300 hostage's and immediately.

Then put Predator UAVs patrolling the coast, destroy any boat large or small leaving any port on their coast, level all ports, mine all ports and leave nothing over knee high for a 5 mile radius around any port.

I doubt that there would be anyone left with a taste for piracy.
