Somali elders on Sunday renewed efforts to free an American held hostage for days on a lifeboat after his pirate captors fired on a US navy vessel and defied attempts to have them arrested.
Even as negotiations resumed to free the American captain, pirates manoeuvred an Italian vessel and its 16-strong crew toward the Somali coastline

Maybe we could work out a swap, say Rahm Emanuel.
Gee, Good Idea....Hostage swap started this, it could END it also.

When the Crew members that were saved unload their ship in port, they can sail back around in a loaner Boat, like a US Destroyer, and pick up their Captain . . . or ELSE...
In other words, make the Pirates an offer they can’t refuse.
Somali elders ought to take control of their country....oh, they are in control of their country, I forgot. Yep, I’m sure they were just so concerned about the fate of the American captain. What should happen is every time one of the pirate boats are caught at sea there should be a mysterious disappearance with no comment. Just gone! They would soon get the message. And no country would have to take the credit or blame, the sea just takes things away.
Village elders by a$$. Boss of the pirates is more like it...Dip bullets in pig blood first and let them know that ahead of time......
