Canada Free Press ^ | April l12, 2009 | John Lillpop

Posted on 04/12/2009 6:32:17 AM PDT by libstripper

Pirates have seized two ships in which America has an interest and continue to hold Richard Phillips, Captain of the Maersk Alabama, for two million dollars ransom.

After several days of witnessing the lone superpower in the universe literally brought to its knees by four Johnny Depp caliber pirates, even journalists in the leftist media are starting to wonder:

Where in the hell is President and Commander-in-chief Barack Obama?

Until now, Obama has been strangely mute, preferring to let Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speak for the administration.

O’wimp can’t even defeat a pirate. What a loon. Congrats, MSM, you got someone with as many cojones as you have...and he’s just as stupid, too. Be sure to reserve a NYT position for the loon after we kick him out.

Hillary cackles about Americans being kidnapped by terrorists and the commander in training orders pizza from 900 miles away. I guess all we can do is pray and wait.

Any new info on why she broke into inappropriate cackles while talking about this crisis?

Hey, give him a break. After guaranteeing the warranties at GM and Chrysler President Goodwrench has a lot of oil changes and tire rotations to perform.

Obama's foreirn policy can be summed up in one word "talk".

Talk failed to persuade North Korea not to test its long range missile.

Talk is not deterring Iran's rush to become a nuclear nation.

Talk is failing to free the US ship captain.

Can we say Obama's foreign policy is failing after less than three months in office?

When you make the safety of the Captain the most important objective above national interests, this is the kind of ridiculous situation you find yourself in, i.e., four ragtag pirates in a lifeboat without gas in the middle of the ocean making demands and holding the world’s lone superpower hostage for five days.

The sad part is that if the Captain is released unharmed most of the American people will consider this a success and won’t even care if the pirates are allowed to escape back to Somalia.

He said, just a few days, ago that the United States is not and will not be at war with islam. That’s the crux of the matter here. Those pirates are jihadis.

The U.S. has a longstanding policy of not paying ransom.

How Arrogant.

He promised “change”. Why repeat the errors of the past? Pay them the $2,000,000.00. Compared to the porkapalooza, it’s mere chump change. Call it a stimulus.

I’m no military man, but surely Obama’s responsibilities could be easily discharged by calling his Secretary of the Navy and saying “make this problem go away, and if possible rescue the captain, but in no event are the pirates to escape alive.”

Or if that is distasteful, call the Texas Governor, and ask “Do you have a spare Texas Ranger who knows how to swim?”

He could fix his problem so easily. Why the delay?
