People like SUVs because they are practical vehicles. Liberal snobs hate 'em. Every one else loves em.

The smart set here in New York has long declared the SUV dead.

Well, that settles that then. It's well known that the rest of us out here in the boonies can't make a move until we find out what the smart set in New York thinks we should do.

“The smart set here in New York has long declared the SUV dead.”

Not smart.

Never were.

Never will be.

About anything.

Yeah, in 74 and 79 they thought they had it all figured out too...

Me, last August, at 4.25 per gallon, got a Yukon Denali, fully loaded, for nothin...

Who’s driving in style, and who’s lookin like a dork on a moped?

I’ll keep my pickup with it’s modified 350HP engine!

I wouldn’t have one of the Tonka Toys if it was free.

Pedal to the metal with gasoline only!

Today I saw one of those smart cars on an LA freeway. They are no match for any other car in a wreck. You'd get squashed like a bug. I can only think of that Limbaugh parody of the Elvis tune... "In A Yugo"...

Probably a couple of well edjacated libs with a short shelf life.

We just bought a Used 2000 Nissan Pathfinder for a third car. 109,000 miles and in perfect condition. Clean title, no wrecks, floods or chop. Interior is excellent. $1500.

Just bought a Kawasaki Ninja (older) for less than a grand. 60 miles per gallon and way more fun. Went to get a haircut today, so I took the car. It occured to me what a waste it is to carry a 3,000 pound box around with you as you drive.

Crossovers are the dumbest things on the road. They cost more than a car but have no more room on the inside than a car. They certainly aren’t SUVs.

What’s the point?

The SUV is the vehicle of the future.
I covered a few states on my vacation last week, and everyone will be driving SUVs if the roads keep being maintained the way I saw. Some of these work zones have been torn up for YEARS!, but at least they finally finished the I-70/I-75 interchange(at least I think its finished).

That gas-guzzling, pollutant-spewing darling of suburban and rural America is a passé relic of a bygone era, according to the book editors, fashion photographers, literary critics, Broadway choreographers and other practitioners of the bedrock industries that built this country.

Yeah, like I'm gonna take car-buying advise from one of these "practitioners of bedrock industries." The reality is that these practitioners of exchanging bodily fluids and blood-borne pathogens from pollutant spewing queens (see the ***-guzzling, pollutant spewing example above) don't need SUV's to get from their loft apartments to the bath houses.
