Predictable: MSNBC's Shuster, Newsweek's Gross Belittle and Misconstrue Tea Party Efforts
NewsBusters ^ | April 11, 2009 | Jeff Poor

Even before a single bag of tea has been dumped as a form of protest over government economic policies, the gang at MSNBC is in full-attack mode over the notion these protests merit any recognition.

On MSNBC's April 10 "Countdown," fill-in host David Shuster imitated his MSNBC colleague Rachel Maddow's juvenile and overdone description of the tea party protest to disparage the upcoming nationwide event.

"Now to the so-called ‘teabagging parties' you may have heard about," Shuster said. "They have been fluffed repeatedly by Fox News. Citizen protests over the government's collection of taxpayer money, specifically that the wealthiest taxpayers in our nation will see their rates go up 3 percent two years from now."

They're attempting to set this up in a way to frame it as a lunatic convention.

MSNBC has more respect/praise/sympathy for terrorists and pirates than tax-paying Americans

“specifically the wealthiest” my ass, you dumbf*

I’m tired of supporting scumbags and leeches. You like them so much, Shuster, use your own damn money.

I saw part of this exchange. It was everything you would expect from Shuster and Gross was parroting the party line. To paraphrase: With problems this big only government can help, and these people are too stupid to understand that.

No offense, but why would anybody here pay the slightest attention to a mouse-faced putz like Shuster?

Puppet heads doing what thier told, nothing like taking pride in your job as an independent thinking journalist who takes pride in his craft in the pursuit of truth without being partisan. Lackies licking the boots of thier masters, ah... will the fun ever end. May the tea parties flourish into bigger and better organized peaceful protests until these media whores have no choice but to report, of coarse with the usual whine, cry bitch and moan.

Unless there are huge numbers participating next Wed., the msm will either ignore the tea parties completely, or denigrate them as just “a few GOP soreheads” who are opposing Dear Leader. So we need to turn out numbers that can’t be ignored.

The news media resembles the bewigged Lords of Parliment sneering over the backwoods Colonials.

We kicked their behinds, too.

MSNBC and Newsweek: The net nobody watches paired with the rag nobody reads.

How apropos.

They are very afraid of their king being made to look like the incompetent a%% that he is, therefore, they must belittle American citizens to make BO and themselves look better.

Shuster and Maddow are involved in a "cover up" for the more sinister side of the Tea Party movement.

Their job is to minimize the importance so that Homeland Security is caught unawares the day everybody rises up and seizes control of the government!

Just what you'd expect from a guy who can't understand the difference between raising tax rates THREE PERCENTAGE POINTS vs. 3%.

If you owe 10K in tax at a rate of 35%, a 3% increase is 300 bucks. If you raise tax rates THREE PERCENTAGE POINTS (and I believe the One is seeking FOUR PERCENTAGE POINTS), the increase is a lot more.

Apparently Barbie was right. Math is hard ... for liberals.

It isn’t a “progressive” movement so it’s naturally bad.

Cindy Sheehan in Crawford practically by herself is a news story, thousands upon thousands of average people fed up with big government isn’t.

No wonder the media is going bankrupt.

The MSM trying to make the 'news' instead of reporting on it. They have been doing it for years and years. It took us a while but we finally figured it out!

By them trying to trash Fox News proves why Fox is number one in cable ratings and MSNBC is usually last.

Yes, its called commie propaganda.

Very normal for communists.

Complaining is not constructive....planning how to overthrow them, is.

I liked Schuster when he was a real journalist. Now that he’s coming out and saying stuff like this, it reminds me of those idiot hollywood types who have no brain in their heads, using their fame as a political platform.

So, Mr. Schuster, just shut up and report.

I don’t know if you all are aware of this, but Tucker Carlson is now on the rolls over at Cato.

“Teabagging”
David Shuster's mom and dad must really be proud of him for making a pun that equates tea parties with oral sex. It's amazing how the left can pass off crude remarks like this as intelligent political commentary and still get away with attacking conservatives for being uneducated and backwards.

Newsweek and MSNBC can go to Hell, quite frankly. I don’t support either of them, in any way, shape or form.
