So with state-run health care. No one has ever claimed that it's a disaster immediately. Equally, no sane person has ever claimed that it's anything but a disaster ultimately.
Mutt spread the dioxin, metaphorically, and -- notwithstanding the Marxist jackass who is governor -- he knew full well what a calamity it would be, or, if you would argue that he did not know, then he's a moron.
In criminal law, such action would be termed ''accessory before the fact''.
There is no way that you can spin Mutt's state-run healthcare programme into anything positive. And there's no way he can duck responsibility for it.
He can simply say, look my liberal legislature was going to do something even more drastic. They forced this bill on me. It would have been overridden in a veto session. Look it is terrible and I would not force that on the country.
Now we know that government run health care is worse than our current system. Let's fix the current system by reforming lawsuits (loser pays), free the market for health care, get the FDA out of the way (let them focus on safety, but use data from overseas drug trials, let people decide to use or not use experimental drugs for their condition, etc.)
It would be a winner, not just for him, but for us as conservatives. We're not going to get the perfect candidate and the truth is that Reagan was not the perfect candidate. He was the best among politicians.
