The Navy should keep a ship between them and the shore and make it clear that the pirates aren't going anywhere unless the captain is released. If the captian goes free, then they go free. If the captain dies, then they die. No ransom. No bargains. Live or die, that's the only choice... Make it simple enough for their 9 volt brains to comprehend. Give up the capain, and live. Kill the captain, and die. No more, no less.

From what I understand they did this...but the captors believe as soon as they release the captain they will be killed.

For some reason they think if they have money on their lifeboat that the US wouldn’t blow them up anyway.

The SEALS need to deal with this...but IOTUS won’t ever let it happen.
