Four ragtag pirates in a lifeboat without gas in the middle of the ocean surrounded by US warships are making demands and we are responding by having the FBI conducting negotiations like it was a domestic, criminal hostage incident. What are we going to do, read them their Miranda rights?

Now they are being joined by more pirates making more demands. Sorry, but this should not have gone on for more than two days and counting. This shows weakness, not cool-headiness.

Sooner or later the pirates are going to run low on food & water. Then they are going to start making demands. This is going to spin out of control very quickly if the Navy doesn’t act soon.
