for Thanksgiving- he did not go to Church-
And as far as I know- didn,t go on Christmas (he has said he doesn’t celebrate that) and did not go on New years- and did not go for the opening of the New Congress-

Barack Obama has repeatedly said that he sees all faiths as equal. That God would not condemn those who follow other faiths to Hell.

That would have been my suggestion, too. It’s thoroughly liberal, so his and his supporters’ feelings wouldn’t be hurt, and, as a National Institution, attending services there wouldn’t make any particular religious statement. The message I would draw would be, “We’re going to church because it’s kind of expected, and this is a cool building where official government events are held.”
