How would they enforce it if no one complied with the requirement? There are no jails big enough to hold every gun owner in the country.
The same way they enforce our "voluntary" tax scheme. With the threat of prison.

But, they don’t NEED jails. They plan to use gas chambers.

They couldn’t and wouldn’t. They are hoping that they can get as many as possible to be good little girls and boys and do what they want. At least decrease the amount they have to later take by force. Keep a couple cheap guns, hide the rest. Hide your ammo stash. Hide it off your property. Don’t risk them getting your good stuff. Unarmed citizens are helpless over tyranny.
