I know, you're fed up with reading about Michelle Obama. But let me just tempt you towards one last, tiny detail: the First Lady's falsies. Michelle Obama is normally so natural looking, it's surprising to find something about her that is so unapologetically fake.
Those eyelashes weren't even trying to look real.
No, they were full-on, all-out diva lashes, the kind you normally find on D-list celebrities or in drag-act dressing rooms. The allure of the long lash is well-documented. They define and sexualise the gaze, making the eyes appear bigger (and therefore younger). Gazing up at someone through luscious lashes is considered an act of seduction; it's even entered the vernacular: “you batted your eyelashes at him”.
Given that Mrs Obama's intention was to seduce Europe, she chose those lashes well, making no attempt to conceal the artifice. She did not, for example, opt for lash extensions which give the most natural finish. These are bonded to the wearer's own lashes, a painstaking process that nevertheless yields fantastic results. Who needs some old wedding band when hubby bestowed upon her a THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLAR diamond, gold and platinum ring to “thank her for all her support during the election.” This received virtually no press coverage in the USA, but did in the UK.
My lefty friends absolutely refused to believe this, that Obama could be “one of the people” and talk about all of us making sacrifices in the economic crisis, and then on Nov. 5 splurge on a $30,000.00 piece of bling for his wife. I had to do quite a bit of searching, found a UK story with a picture of it, I think it might be the same ring, with the diamond so hideously large it looks fake, she wore on inauguration evening.

You have to “sneak” (wink-wink) and do it yourself while your stylist is out of the room. State boards prevent eyebrown lightening...caustic substance too close to soft tissue for comfort.

You neglected to mention the cost of these lashes. These are applied one by one to the wearers own lashes, like hair extentions. They are unbelievably expensive.
The new Royal couple have been spendinf like drunken sailers of their first shore leave.

The MSM went berserk over the GOP’s expenditures for clothes for their candidates. Shouldn’t Aunt Esther be subject to the same scrutiny as the lovely Sarah?

They do NOT to me look like the expensive individual extensions.. they seem to be more of the Mabelline variety .. but probably with a higher Saks price..

Actually they don’t look BAD on her but one has to wonder why one at her age/stage feels the need for them. If she were in a show type profession, that might be expected… but even Meryl Streep and most older stars have a more natural look (well then there is Babs)
Cant help but wonder if now that Beyonce and other glamour girls in show Biz have been “aflirtin’” with her man, if she is feeling the need to up the appearance a bit.
Woofie….your pix on 63 is scary.. I like a lot of the work of Frieda and her hubby Rivera Diego. She had eyebrows that were together as does michelle naturally..There is an excellent movie out a few years ago about her life titled Frida & staring Salma Hayek.
