Slocom (sp) first single handed around the world used tin-tacks on deck.
I guess they may have "electrified" part of the deck, and fired up a water hose for good measure.
One is a scum-sucking bottom feeder, and the other one is a fish.
Someone posted to me; I usually give the people who post to me the courtesy of an answer. I’ve been away from this thread for a while and posting on other things, in the meantime. You can see where I’ve been posting elsewhere...
But you also may not be able to depend on stories written after there has been time to get the "spin" out to the newsies.
State of Illinois law. I break their law, I get my guns taken away in Indiana.
That’s the rules. My carry permit is no good in Illinois.
You said — But you also may not be able to depend on stories written after there has been time to get the “spin” out to the newsies.

I have to catch up on the reading of the news on it right now, since I’ve been out and around. I just got back.
BUT, the first thing I picked up when I got back, was that there are still pirates holding someone. Now, first I was hearing that everyone was rescued and now that I get back, I hear that someone is being held hostage. So, I don’t even know what the true story is, at this point in time.
I would give it somewhere about 24-48 hours for the story to be fully put together, assuming that the whole thing is actually over (but the hostage crisis may not be over). And then I would give it a *week* for an “in-depth” story to come out and really get down to the details of what happened.
I don’t figure on ever getting the full story until a few days has passed...
What do you know of the status of the hostages at this point in time? Do you know something about it, like is there still a hostage being held, are the pirates (or pirate, or whatever) still there?

Anyway, I’ll be following up on the story later on in the day and into the evening to find out these things.
yep, hundreds of days don’t sound appealing
Indeed, a big ole wrench makes a fine bludgeon. Smack an AK-47 with one, and the AK is unlikely to fire again. A fire ax would have it's skull splitting uses as well.
That's the crew's story and they are sticking to it!! LOL.
LOL, the poor pirates had to "jump" into the water to escape from the unarmed Americans. What a bunch of little worms.
Too bad the Captain is the water with them. Fortunately for the Captain, they are in one of the ship's lifeboats. Crew attempted to trade captured pirate for Captain, the pirate, being pirates, reneged. But now they are floating in big ocean in a very small raft.
Waiting for coalition and US naval forces to appear on scene.
It hadn’t happened to the USA for over 200 years. Who woulda thunk of a revival. Only a sap like Obama could invite that! He’s the only president the Somalis don’t fear.
I'm guessing that the crew decided that they would NOT be treated well, and were likely to be tortured to death once they got transported to shore.
Always remember Mogadishu!!!!
DARN there is no way to pick off those three pirates. Battleship comes in view, they will kill the captain. We need something like a submarine and divers to appear without warning.
Have you seen the size of some of the wrenches used on board a ship? More like a big pry bar(which they might have as well). Hit an AK with one of those, and you'd likely dent the receiver or barrel sufficiently to cause it to no longer operate properly, to say the least.
Unlike Merchant ships, DDGs are armed, with everything from small arms (pistols, M-14 and/or M-16 rifles, machine guns), cannon, both single barrel and Gatling type, and a big ole 3" or 5" deck gun, equiped with some very interesting ammunition. And that's mostly for self defense. For attack and defense of other ships (and themselves) they have missiles
Pirates are unlikely to attempt to board them. They mgiht try to blow them up, but not to board them. Even doing the former would be very problamatic in these "post USS Cole: days, at least until Obummer changes the rules of engagement
Yeah, I read that after posting.
US Navy ships and aircraft are on the way....should be there soon
Don't worry about it -- I just included you because there's no way to CC: the posting.
ST has been warned again, but he hasn't dropped it. If he keeps it up, I'll notify the Admin Moderator.
Ahh..., I see... thanks.
Former Navy Seal interviewed on FOX said they would use “none transparent” means to bring the situation to an end.
