An "overnight" Success
The Andrea Shea King Show ^ | April 7, 2009 | Andrea Shea King

Singer-songwriter Lloyd Marcus at the piano with songwriter Tom Snow at Snow's home in Montecito, California. Snow and his wife Mary Belle hosted a cocktail party honoring Lloyd last Friday night.

He's an overnight sensation!

How often have you heard that said of entertainment "stars" who seemingly appear on the scene in a flash of publicity and buzz. A newly discovered talent! A star! An overnight sensation!

What most folks don't realize is the time, sacrifice and effort that has gone into becoming "an overnight sensation". A good example of that is our friend Lloyd Marcus, whose song "The American Tea Party Anthem" has taken off like 4th of July fireworks and has his head spinning with offers from record distribution companies, television networks, and more. He's rubbing elbows with LA show biz types, including famed songwriter Tom Snow, who hosted a cocktail party in Lloyd's honor last Friday night at his fab LA mansion overlooking the valley and Pacific Ocean beyond.

So what does the Central Florida Christian conservative have to say about all this? How is he keeping his head on straight amidst this whirlwind? Lloyd and his wife Mary will join us tonight to talk about the surprising story behind the story. I won't spoil it for you, but here's a hint: it's heartwarming, humbling. And unexpected.

Join us at 9 tonight on my radio program -- The Andrea Shea King Show. I'll be expecting you.

Here is someone else who needs some exposure: www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=897450&songID=7493066

I posted last night about ways to market this song and received lots of good info regarding internet promotion. However, does anyone here have any experience with the music industry and how to market to them? The artist is a friend of mine who mentioned once or twice he "played a little guitar". He then brought me this song that he recorded in his bedroom and asked me to listen to it. I expected something awful that I would have to be polite about - but this is a professional quality rock tune slamming Porkulus.

Anyone have any ideas?
