I’ve believed for awhile that our country has gotten to the point of needing prosperity to keep us civilized — it acts as a societal lubricant after most other civilizing institutions and mores have been degraded. When the prosperity goes away — watch out.

That’s an extremely astute observation.
Interesting point.
What an exceptional observation. I must ponder further.
VERY interesting hypothesis. I believe you're on to something.
Materialism has become the deity crowding out all else. Take the deity away and the individual then become "foresaken."
Yep. For a long time, that’s all a lot of people have had to fill the void in them. Without money to throw at that void, what’s left?
That’s one theory. The other is that the shadow government is activating sleepers to kill with the end of gun control.

If you’re used to crackers and that’s all you’ve ever hoped for, you’re not disappointed. If you grew up on cake, it’s a lot harder to go back and eat crackers. There are a lot of people running around now realizing that they’ve tasted their last cake and they are angry, blaming anything and anyone they can, and taking revenge for perceived wrongdoing.
