HANOI (AFP) US wartime use of the defoliant Agent Orange in Vietnam remains an issue between the two countries despite remarkable progress in relations, Senator John McCain said Tuesday.
"I think it remains an issue both in Vietnam and the United States," McCain told reporters.
. . . . .
McCain said the United States has spent about 46 million dollars in Vietnam compensating victims and attempting to find areas that are contaminated by dioxin.
"But I believe that it remains an irritant, and perhaps more than that, for some of the people of Vietnam. But I think we need to continue to address the issue both in compensation of victims as well as cleanup of areas that are clearly contaminated," said McCain, a former navy pilot who was shot down over Hanoi in 1967 and held prisoner for five-and-a-half years during the Vietnam War.

I believe we need to apply Agent Orange to McCain and make him defoliate completely.
I will be elated when that loser retires from politics. I still get sick thinking he was the GOP nominee in 2008.
Why don’t you go back and offer yourself as a POW again, Juan? Perhaps that will help cure your too, too burdensome guilt over being a rich white American. (Or at least for having MARRIED a rich, white American.) But please, leave the rest of us out of it. We don’t share your sense of remorse for living in the US.
This insensitive attempt at humor falls far short. I have a 22 year old daughter born with Spina Bifida that I believe is the result of my service related Agent Orange exposure. Do some research than then try to make another funny.
It’s a joke directed at a politician on a political board. I can understand and sympathize with your sensitivity concerning your daughter. But, my comments were in no way directed to you or her. In my opinion, your sensitivity goes too far.
