Nah, he was quite healthy the last email I received from him. Of course, he’s pretty well connected, and pretty much a Boy Scout (figuratively and quite probably, literally).
Now if I had dealt with these guys, I would probably still be in the pokey, or just “disappeared” after listening to the full recording. These guys were way out of line. I suspect that there will be, at least some disciplinary actions on the first TSA type.
Having spent my career transiting these checkpoints, I’ve found that standing your ground does much to limit bad behavior on the TSA’s part. Actually, it seems to work pretty well on Customs and Immigration. If you’re more in control than they are, they are left at a disadvantage, especially if they’re not terribly strong on standard procedures. TSA types are especially noted for this.
