I think you hit on a key point.. Fred was probably the most Conservative who actually could have stood a chance, but, due to his NBC contract forcing him to get in late, I think it allowed for the RINOs to get together and paint him as something he wasn’t (lazy, pro-abortion, pro-gun control and every other lie drummed up).. The stars where aligned against Fred in more ways than one. It is hard to come back when your opponents have that much time to define you and you can’t really rebut.

Yes, exactly. And it didn’t help Fred that he actually got in fairly early according to historic campaigns, right after Labor Day, but that since clinton started stretching campaigns out back in the 90s, they now go on much longer than they ever did before.

Obama and hillary started things off very early, and that distorted the whole process.

I honestly don’t think Hunter ever stood much of a chance, so the press united in burying Fred and establishing the meme that he was “lazy,” even though he was doing much more than McCain that fall.

Now we have a president who, like bill clinton, will be campaigning and fundraising for the next four—or eight—years, pretty much nonstop.
