Hubby had a funny line this morning. I mentioned the article and situation and his first response was, “This is where a good foundation in economics would have benefited her kidnappers — supply and demand. See, they have a commodity that has to be fed and guarded, requiring the expense and man-hours to do so when they could be out killing women and children in the streets. This is a situation where one would advise them to sell short and cut their losses.”

Only HE would see things that way, and he added, “Of course, one mourns the loss of life from the human perspective, but you just can't fix stupid.”
