Texas is where I want to live. It is my first choice state for a whole lot of great reasons, including the fact that my sister has been living there for decades. The trouble is that my husband can’t get work there — he has been trying, believe me. He has talked to contacts all over the state. I wanted to move to San Angelo, but would have been pleased to land anywhere in that great state.

Well, pray about it, and see if God will open those doors. You know, if you are waiting to have the job first, God may be waiting to see if you’re willing to trust Him and take that first step. Some one else said on this thread that sometimes you have to go out and get the interviews. I imagine it’s not very easy to get a job offer if you’re not in the state. Some companies won’t even look at your resume for an interview.

Maybe your husband could be a consultant or freelance here until he got a full time job. I just saw an ad on Craigslist here in the town where I live (which is near Dallas, in what used to be called the ‘telecom corridor’ before telecom went bust), for an office suite address, conference rooms, kitchen, mail service, etc. for $50/month! Almost anyone could make $50 a month, flipping burgers part time.

But, sometimes I really think God waits to see how much we’re willing to do in faith before he gives us the blessing. At least that’s been true for me. Sometimes, I have to stop trying to control my own destiny and trying to force my will onto His, and just let go and see what he directs me to. Maybe he wants you to come on down here, even if it’s just for camping for a while, to see what will happen. I’m sorry to say, but what the other people have said is true—your husband is probably not going to be able to get an interview with an out of state address. I just think people are unwilling to even talk to people, thinking they’re going to expect more money, a moving package, etc. There’s too many local people who are looking for work.

So, pray about it and see if maybe God wants you to come on down here and see if he opens any doors while you’re here. With gas prices low now, it’s not that expensive to drive, and here’s a link to the Texas State Parks, where you can find very nice facilities for camping, make reservations and plan your whole trip. God bless!
