"For nothing in my life ever would have predicted that I would be standing here as the first African-American First Lady," Mrs. Obama said, according to press reports. "I was not raised with wealth or resources or any social standing to speak of. I was raised on the South Side of Chicago — that’s the real part of Chicago.”

She is a freakin liar
She had a very good and stable upbringing
Both parents were at home
. Her brother also got educated and turned out good.
And her father had a great job with the city of Chicago waterworks
A good stable job that any black in Chicago would be very envious of
Her dad was a cog in the Daly machine and that's how he got the job and kept the job

I was thinking the same exact way. She grew up better than many in America. I doubt she went without a thing. In fact, I believe she might have been spoiled.

“Real” Chicago? Is there such a place? To me, its an imaginary land where you make basic wage, go to Cubs games, drink a six-pack after work, vote straight-line Democrat, get robbed twice a year, and attend some local university if you are really lucky.

love your by-line. and don’t forget y’all, somewhere in Her plain-Jane background, Empress Caldonia developed and ENORMOUS appetite for lobster and caviar as an afternoon snack. (Hmmm, is that why the 2 Rino senators from Maine vote for whatever Ogabe wants, to keep Caldonia in lobsters?)
