Gov. Sanford to announce plans for stimulus funds
Sanford capitulation alert, eh?
Well, you might as well sound the Palin capitulation alert, or the Jindal capitulation alert, since Sanford was the last governor to certify acceptance of the Porkulus funds, and Palin and Sanford the only two governors to refuse the $700 Million education funds included as part of the Porkulus "carrot."
As for the $700 Million in question, Sanford has announced that he will not release it to the South Carolina legislature until its members appropriate an equivalent amount of state funds to pay off state obligations, thereby neutralizing Obama's (and the Democrats' at the national level) ability to attack Sanford, as well as boxing the state legislature into a corner. Furthermore, and note well, Sanford's primary opponents in the South Carolina legislature are...Republicans, led by S.C. Sen. Hugh Leatherman from Florence.
But hey, go on right ahead and omit those needed parts in your misguided quest to advance the political chameleon and leftist prop Romney.
I’m not going to condemn the guy for this one position. But it is disappointing when people we look at as future leaders and candidates say one thing and then do something different. His tactic with the legislature seem smart.
Mitt Romney? No way, no how, never!
