I still dont believe that the court will uphold this.
The court upholds the right of out-of-the mainstream religions to kill animals as part of their rituals. There is a corresponding right not to take a life if it is incompatible with one's religion. As cynical as I am about the court, I believe it will recognize this as protected under the First Amendment.
Of course the RAT Senate is hopeless. If we can get the GOP back in the majority, there might be hope for that chamber. You're absolutely right, we need to make this a priority.
