Kathleen Parker, a "conservative" columnist who has discovered that slamming real conservatives was an easy way to lift herself from her earlier state of relative anonymity, has now turned herself into an inadvertent comedienne. I mean, how can you beat this comedy line on the title of her latest column appearing in the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel: "Is Meghan McCain the GOP's answer to Rush Limbaugh?" Yes, Parker is seriously proposing that "Valley Girl McCain" can save the Republicans from that "nasty" Rush Limbaugh:
The GOP's identity crisis just got more interesting with the recent media splash of Meghan McCain, eldest daughter of the senator who did not become president.
Young McCain, who began blogging during her father's presidential campaign, recently made waves at The Daily Beast when she picked a fight with conservative media mavens Ann Coulter and Laura Ingraham. This is enough sport to make the little dog laugh, to say nothing of the dish and the spoon.
McCain, just 24, is one smart cookie. In a matter of weeks, she has created a brand, presenting herself as a fresh face of her daddy's party and a voice for young conservatives. Strategically speaking, what better way to launch herself than to challenge the reigning diva herself, Miz Coulter?
Madonna, meet Britney.

That’s not something I would have first ... um ... hand knowledge of. LOL!
—Though I think Parker is an idiot—
True enough. Anyone who writes a book entitled “Save the Males” isn’t firing on all 4 cylinders IMO.
Understandable. But a self-important never-had-been princess daughter of RINO, who takes it upon her non-accomplished self to attack the stalwarts of the conservative movement is NOT going to be leader of her girl scout pack, much less the GOP.
The future leaders of the conservative movement will come in their own time. And, who knows, that movement may be totally outside of the moribund Republican Party.
democrats
—RINO—
That is a tough term to define. There’s no GOP manifesto that says it has to be conservative. Indeed, before Ronald Reagan, most of the GOP’s big shots were mushy moderates; Richard Nixon, Nelson Rockefeller, Howard Baker, Gerald Ford Bob Michel, Bob Dole all come to mind. The conservative movement MUST not hitch itself to a particular party. And, yes, I think the GOP may be moribund; in fact, it might be in the same shape the dinosaurs were at the end of the Cretaceous, right after the meteor hit.
she’s dead to me
What is the question?
“Is Meghan McCain the GOP’s answer to Rush Limbaugh?”
Hardly.
Me neither...But being a woman who is not very fond of Ms McCain, it seemed like the logical response. :-)
For a moment there, I thought you were comparing the likenesses of the persons in the pictures.
I saw the show. I was bored and was curious about seeing a trainwreck. Don’t understand why all those people wanted a “shot” with Tila Tequila. She looks like an emaciated, drug rattled fourth grader.
Kathleen Parker is a Conservative like Bella Abzug was pretty.
She’s searching for a new readership since she tried to torpedo Sarah Palin and lost her first audience.
My advice: skip her screeds.
The girl is definitely a RINO. If she wants to go into politics, fine, but not as a conservative:
“Meghan McCain is a 23-year-old, socially liberal John Kerry voter...”

Why would Ms. Parker believe that Ms. McCain represents the GOP?
OUCH!!!!!
But I do so love the snarkiness of the Taciturn American Freeper (Americanus Patriotus)!
