Once again, Ollie knocks it for six. How I wish he were your POTUS and not the pretender who currently sits in the Oval Office!

“Let’s hope that last sentence will not become the epitaph for the United States of America we knew before Barack.”

How can it not be? Unless we can get this budget overturned in some way...found to be unConstitutional, or something, it is a done deal.

What is puzzling me is why is the stock market rising in light of all this governmental takeover and trillions upon trillions of budgets, stimulus antics, bailouts and debt? Is this a sign the economy is getting better?

I'm not much of an economist; and these questions are not being asked to in any way shape or form defend what Obama and the statists are doing to ruin this country.

But I did listen to Rush Limbaugh off and on yesterday and did catch him laughing about how the stock market rose because Obama was out of the country. Kind of like a "the cat's away, let's play" moment.

I've never bought anything else — and mine is working on 150,000 miles and starts (knock wood) every time. I will (God, willing) buy another when I finally have to get rid of this one.

Ollie has summed the situation up accurately and soberly. Now we all need to figure out what we're going to do. Had a lovely supper with my extended family of Marines last night (must be close to pay day ;0) and as we gathered around the table, said grace and filled our plates, we listened as the news rolled out on Fox, then we joined up in the den to listen to hubby's podcast regarding where we need to go now.

It's time folks to decide what we're going to do — fall in line or draw one.

What is the GOV was dibbling in the stock market? Just to give faux impression things are on the mend. Impossible?

Hitler didn’t need a teleprompter.

Ah, he had the 1940's version of that technology, Joseph Goebbels.

Odd how things of a similar nature tend to drift back together...

:-)

I buy Fords from now on.

And I believe Ford will prosper greatly from this "unfair" move. Come to think of it I need a new truck. That F150 4x4 looks sweet to me!

These decisions -- that government, not the free market, shall dictate who runs a private corporation, what that corporation shall make or sell, and what it shall pay its employees -- are unprecedented in an America not fully mobilized for war. Apologists for the Obama administration -- and there are many -- note that previous administrations have done similar things in "difficult economic times." As examples, they cite Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Depression-era agricultural production limits to boost farm prices and Richard Nixon's "temporary" wage and price freeze to cut inflation. What today's cheerleaders for Draconian interference in capitalism and our private lives fail to mention is that these measures were abandoned because they did not work.

"I buy Fords from now on. "

Forty years ago I bought a German car. Ever since it's been Chrysler, Ford and GM -- new & used. I drive my vehicles long & hard, maintain & repair as needed.

GM vehicles have always treated me great. Chrysler & Ford: not so great. Chevys cost more to buy, but run longer. Chrystler & Ford are cheaper, but I spend more on repairs. I like Chevys better.

Personally, I'd rate Ford repair service better than the others, but maybe that's only because I spend more time with those folks. ;-)

As for Obama firing Wagner, well, let's be serious for a minute: US law should require that before ANY CEO can go to Congress to ask for bail-out money, he must first submit his resignation, effective on the date the US taxpayer money is received. Let's keep these yahoos properly incentivized!
