Health and Human Services nominee Kathleen Sebelius recently corrected three years of tax returns and paid more than $7,000 in back taxes after finding "unintentional errors" -- the latest tax troubles for an Obama administration nominee. The Kansas governor explained the changes to senators in a letter dated Tuesday that the administration released. She said they involved charitable contributions, the sale of a home and business expenses. Sebelius said she filed the amended returns as soon as the errors were discovered by an accountant she hired to scrub her taxes in preparation for her confirmation hearings. She and her husband, Gary, a federal magistrate judge in Kansas, paid a total of $7,040 in back taxes and $878 in interest to amend returns from 2005-2007.

So what. This Johnny come clean lately stuff is bunk. She should NOT be appointed. Period.
Notice how the AP headline minimizes the amount. The back taxes are $7,040, and the interest is $878. The total is $7,918. The could have said “over $7,000” or “nearly $8,000”, but they did not.
Hussein’s standards are dropping; now he’ll take just any garden variety tax cheat. She’s an amateur compared to tiny tom.
One thing though. She and her husband sold their house at a loss. They owed money on the loan. They thought they could continue to deduct the interest. Seems like an honest mistake to me.
Like I keep saying, democraps don’t like tax cuts because the don’t pay taxes.
Only liberals can get by with this crap. This woman is a governor and her husband is a judge. If I did this, I’d be looking at jail time. Disgusting.
I don’t know. It seems that the “primary residence” requirement would be a pretty obvious clause.
At least she has a husband.
oh, did they use turbo tax or do their taxes by longhand?
Look, I dunno. I made a pass at my taxes tonight, and I owe $46,000. I have $30,000. Just like every year, I’ll have to borrow the difference and work the next 2 months paying it off with income I’ll have to pay taxes on next year. I’m sick of it.
This just stinks.
Don't pay your taxes and take the Turbo Tax Tim and Short pay Sebilious defense. Should work well, that is, if you are an Obumbo appointee.

I was reviewing my tax forms before filing, and found out that in one place I had accidentally entered the wrong amount for my personal property taxes. Even though I had already printed my forms, and saved them off to disk, I went back and spent a half hour fixing it, all so I could pay an extra $12 or so.
That’s because I am a conservative who hates paying my taxes, but feels it is important to double-check my work and pay every penny I owe, no matter how unjust.
It really burns me up to find that the people running the country apparently see nothing wrong with shortchanging the government thousands of dollars in taxes.
Maybe we could eliminate the deficit if we just appointed every Democrat in the country to a post in the Obama administration.
I’m wondering if Obama deliberately nominates corrupt hacks, in order to desensitize us to their corruption. It’s a good way to see how far they can push the public and get away with it. We’re not far away from third world governance.
How come she didn’t hire that same accountant who recently scrubbed her taxes to do her taxes in the first place? Why is it when these politicians scrub their taxes, they always seem to find they owe more, not less? One would think it would be as likely to have overpaid than underpaid.
