Julia! She looks nice for a visit to her aunt, or to lunch with the gals but a STATE VISIT? Representing the entire population of the United States? She might as well have worn jeans and a muscle shirt. Same signal. We aren’t impressed, don’t think this visit means much of anything except as a social call, and don’t care if you’re offended or not.

The outfit in the pic with the Queen? I don’t think it’s horrible, really. I’m not offended. I’m just sayin’.

Actually this is not a State Visit, but Michelle's attire is still not appropriate for any meeting with the Head of State of any country.

"Julia! She looks nice for a visit to her aunt, or to lunch with the gals but a STATE VISIT?"

This was not really a State visit. A State visit comes at the invitation of the head of a country and is much more involved and formal. It entails much more pomp, circumstance and ceremony. I found this bit on line about the visit.

"President Obama to meet with the Queen of England, next month, in a private meeting, which is deemed somewhat unusual as he will not be there for a state visit. This is a "getting to know you audience", that the Queen, by all accounts, is looking forward to. It has, according to all sources, been a very long time, since she has invited someone personally. Afterward, he is to meet with the G20 heads, for a supper in Essex."
