I would imagine that a lot of the individual automatic weapons are H&K 91s (G3) made under license in Mexico itself, and the new Mexican designed, although derived from the H&K G-36, 5.56 assault rifle the FX-05 Xiuhcoatl" (Fire Serpent in the language of the Aztecs).
