BOSTON (AP) - Barack Obama's Kenyan aunt lost her bid for asylum more than four years ago, and a judge ordered her deported. Instead, Zeituni Onyango stayed, living for years in public housing.
Now, in a case that puts the president in a tough position both personally and politically, Onyango's request is being reconsidered under a little-used provision in U.S. immigration rules that allows denied asylum claims to be reheard if applicants can show that something has changed to make them eligible.
Such as the ascension of her nephew to the presidency of the world's most powerful country.

immigration debate....debate, we won, you lose
Yeah, she’s a symbol of everything that’s wrong with immigration enforcement in this country.
Every country in the World that is able to tries to control its borders. But when the U.S. does it, it’s unfair, it’s a crime. The people who whine about the unfair treatment of illegals want an influx of illegals that can be used to increase their power.
A symbol of crime.
And the Associated Press is a symbol of everything that’s wrong with American journalism.
If she knows where Bambi was born, she will be sent back to Kenya and hidden away. If she doesn’t know where Bambi was born will be allowed to stay.
I’m surprised, she wasn’t recruited as a assitant nanny in the White House.
They tried, but she couldn’t complete the I-9.
Not if her nephew keeps his job. The US is well on its way to third world status.
there was no greater example of Media Bias during the 2008 election than the fact that the mainstream media like the Boston Globe sent reporters to Alaska a trip of about 4500 miles to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin, yet they neglected to visit Obamas aunt who lives less than 2.5 miles from the Boston Globes front door.
I wonder who is paying her legal bills. Probably us.
bttt
Risk of what? If she's at risk then they'd better be prepared to let in the couple of thousand Kenyans who claim to be related to Obama. Maybe they can relocate George's Nairobi slum hut to the White House vegetable garden, where he can grow his own weed. The only risk the others seem to be in is maybe a dropoff in souvenir sales, freebees, news interviews and guided tours through their "quaint" little backward village. And how's that national shrine coming along?
If Zeituni is so shy of the limelight, why is it that she attended the inauguration? And Obama's swearing in as US Senator?
Those Nigerian email scammers can't hold a candle to this group. It must be hereditary.
The money may come from Obama’s donors.
Ping!
