Good premise, good message. Horrifically bad writing!

Perhaps the writing isn’t the best but the theme is exciting and the book never drags. Intended or not it is a book that foresaw a future we live in today.

THat’s always been my experience with books like this, too. “Horrifically bad writing”.
I guess they think “it’s the thought, or sentiment, that counts”, but in fiction of any type, it’s the artistry of the writing and nothing more. Great novels have been written about NOTHING. It’s the writing itself that has to hook you, and has to be “alive”. Otherwise, it might as well be “sociology” or “political science”. Orwell knew how to do this, and very few others.......
