President Obama's Miscalculated Transparency
The American Thinker ^ | March 30, 2009 | Geoffrey P. Hunt

In the end, it may be Obama's transparency that does him in. Not the kind he promised in the campaign, of course.

More and more supporters are waking up to the reality of the man they helped put into the White House. In a sweeping but concise recounting on how President Obama's agenda is now all but lost, largely through a dead-on-arrival proposed budget, Byron York inasmuch predicts Obama may be already a lame duck president barely 60 days into his first term. How is this possible? How did it happen?

Much is made of the popular but overused word "transparency". Nearly every challenger for public office claims the incumbent is mired in secret deal making, cover ups and conspiracies to reward special interests who are the only ones with limited access to the truth. Obama himself repeatedly vowed to bring "transparency" to the presidency. He's certainly accomplished that, in spades.

Which is precisely Obama's problem and why his presidency is doomed. In a staggering miscalculation he forgot that transparency works in opposite ways too; for example displays of ineptitude, ignorance, inexperience and stupidity become glaringly transparent when afforded enough opportunity for repeated exposures. Obama's presidency from the start has been overexposed laying bare his naïveté and absence of leadership in substance, while proving he comprehends little of the enormity of the job he's undertaken, corresponding to his lack of any preparedness for it.

Wouldn't you think the Teleprompter President and his minions could use a little less transparency? While the stock market languished waiting breathlessly for Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner to show up and say something - anything -- every time he now opens his mouth the market tanks and the dollar sinks. How about less transparency over Geithner's enthusiastic asinine reactions to Chinese

Obama....just not smart enough to do the big job. And without the native abilities needed, he cannot be expected to rise to the occasion....the job cannot make the man if there is not enough raw talent to work with.

I think this article makes the incorrect assessment that more than 50% of the population are paying attention. Hell I dont even think half the population care.

“Obama....just not smart enough to do the big job.”
Obama is plenty smart enough. He fooled the entire world to get to where he is. Underestimate him at your peril. He's even managed to convince most of those that think his policies are wrong that he's not deliberately trying to destroy the country . The real question is who is behind the curtain, pulling the strings?

There's a reason there are no affirmative action CEOs.

Anywhere that affirmative action operates, it raises the problem of managing incompetence. Most private businesses use one of two strategies (they are not mutually exclusive, some use both at the same time). The first is to create new, important-sounding jobs that actually do nothing - like Michelle Obama's hospital job in Chicago. The other is to promote into a real job, but then to reassign the actual work to others.

In most government jobs, of course, this usually does not matter, since nothing of value is produced and there are no consequences for failure.

Once we rise to the strategic decision-making level, of course, this doesn't work, because the need for decisions is real and the work can't be reassigned.

We don't KNOW that Zero's academic "career" came about through affirmative action, but it is highly probable, given what we do know. In his post-academic life, of course, he's done nothing.

It's still a little unclear whether he and Michelle's understanding is that of George and Weezie, i.e., that they're just "movin' on up", or whether it's something more sinister.

I'd sure love to know who's writing the text on the teleprompter.

I don’t greatly care about the details of General Motor’s dismantling. The die was cast over many years and we are witnessing the inevitable result. All I care is that people in affected areas don’t die of starvation and that taxpayer bailing out doesn’t continue forever.

I agree that 0bama is stupid.

Like a talented HOllywood actor, he reads the lines brilliantly, looks great on camera, does that part of his job well. A friend of mine who teaches a system for using the body well had Paul Newman as a pupil, reported that he was the best student she’d ever had because he was so accustomed to taking directions.

Who’s the author of the 0bama act, and who’s the director? I’d bet the ranch on the Saudis. Khalid Mansour, their agent, signed up 0bama decades ago:

It also states that the dollar is getting weaker and weaker when it keeps getting stronger (perhaps except against the yen).

Jim. that is an amazingly great response to my comment!

I do hope that no one ever interprets my belief that Obama is simply not smart enough to be president to mean that I think blacks are in any way inferior intellectually :-(

I’m a pretty bright guy, and I have met quite a few blacks that I realized immediately were a great deal smarter than I am.... so I harbor no belief that a black man or woman cannot handle the most important job in the world (POTUS) ....it’s just my belief that this one particular man is not adequate to the task.

You are so right about one thing... affirmative action does no one any good...never never....not ever.

I have longed for the day when a black would win the presidency, knowing that it would enhance the self-esteem of all black children everywhere.... it is such a huge disappointment to me that this incompetent man has made it first :-(

I also agree that his intelligence is overrated! However, an actor can at least memorize his/her lines. I think he is more suited to broadcasting since they too master the teleprompter. The men behind the curtain are the intelligent ones. They know that he is exposed each time he goes off the prompter.
