Does bailing out a bunch of already-retired auto workers really increase Obama’s power? No. Does it help reduce the U.S. to “the former U.S.”? No. Does having any functioning factories in Detroit help in moving the U.S. to Third World status? No.
The answer was pre-ordained: Obama screws the already-retired auto workers.
I will be very surprised if anything damaging happens to the UAW"s workers or retirees! They may tweak the Rolls Royce health plan or put a few more guidelines on the pension qualifications, but it won't be earth shattering.
Note that Obama made no mention of the ball-and-chain union demands that are choking the car makers.
