Everyone needs building up, edifying, shoring up, etc.

The whole purpose of the OP is to lob a grenade into a friendly camp - or perhaps to punish someone’s amoral mom.

I’m not actually advocating that women not vote. If I believed women should not vote, I wouldn’t vote.

Yes it is true, if blacks didn’t vote, the votes would go better. However, I think that would be actively wrong, to deny a man who is subject to the draft and so forth not to be able to vote.

Yes it is true, if Catholics as a group didn’t vote, the votes would go better. However, we are forbidden religious test in this country, right? So we’d have to do a major constitutional overhaul to start channeling only “preferred’ religions into voters. Also, the possibility of fraud is extremely high. Religion is impossible to “prove,” really.

The 19th amendment is relatively new and more open to change. I am not seriously advocating for it to be rescinded, mostly for pragmatic reasons. But I don’t think it would be immoral or wrong to rescind it.

I don’t think that’s stupidity or bigotry. And I am not a “boot licker.”

What is OP?

You are so certain that they need protection from the women, else they allow their testicles (I’m sure that you can use this anatomical term on FR) to be locked up, right?

That doesn’t sound like a problem with women, that sounds like a problem with the men.

Perhaps you could protect them some way other than by taking the vote from all women.

For that matter, should men who are incapable of managing their own gonads be allowed to vote?

The opposition? If so, I still don’t get your comment.
I’m heading to bed now so I’ll read the rest of this interesting thread tomorrow.

I know quite a number of emotional men.

Men are deeply emotional, and often irrationally so. They just like to call their irrational emotion "passion" or some such thing. Every woman knows how illogical men can be.

My mother always said giving women the right to vote was stupid.

She claimed that they already had the right to vote and exercised it at the diner table and the bedroom.

Ventana, I would add to your argument that some of the strongest, most courageous conservatives out there today are women: Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingram, Monica Crowley, and on and on. Where would we be without them?

I remember listening to Ann Coulter (some people seem to forget she has a wicked, ironic sense of humor) tell about watching a load of Operation Pink lefties harangue Sarah Palin as she was speaking at the RNC convention last September. She was stunned that NOT ONE MAN had the guts to tell these Pinkies to shut up, let alone the guts to haul them out of there. She said it's conservative women who are doing the real fighting these days.

Exactly.

My Mom, wife and sister are not the problem. They are conservatives.

The problem is liberals, whether they have a penis or not.

Let’s allow only women who have completed menopause to vote and make all the decisions. After all, it is supported by science.

Hillery Clinton is a pretty good argument against that theory

My mother always said giving women the right to vote was stupid. She claimed that they already had the right to vote and exercised it at the diner table and the bedroom.

That is pretty harsh. My fathers' advice was to let your wife have carte blanche on unimportant decisions like how to decorate the house, what to feed the kids as long as you had the important decisions like what was good for the family and the country politically.

My wife wasn't paying attention to that, nor was she paying attention to the part during the wedding ceremony about submitting to your husband. She would have none of it. I admire that from a gene pool perspective. You should see my daughter. A real spitfire.

Libs make a living turning human nature on it's head. Estrogen/Testosterone and hunter vs. gatherer instincts can be controlled through proper social engineering.

Mrs. OneVike agrees with me. While she is as conservative as I am, she would willingly give up her right to vote if we rescinded the 19th amendment. She knows that it would be good for the country in the long run.

Ann Coulter has also said the same thing - that for the good of the country she'd be willing to give up her voting franchise.

I no longer believe that there is any such thing as a postmenopausal woman.

Well, if they continue to take hormones to delay menopause, I guess I'd agree with you.

Switzerland did not give women the full right to vote until 1970 or so. They have declined greatly in just 40 years.

I think the premise of the article is inherently flawed. All the previous great civilizations were largely controlled by men and collapsed on their own weight so blaming women for the downfall of America is equally flawed.

You and others here are confusing progressivism, feminism and liberalism. You are wrong here.

Without agreeing with the substance of the rest of your post, you have a very good point here, and it's an indictment of what American education has failed to do.

The average high-school graduate should be able to spot an illicit minor, an appeal ad populum, and a pigeon-drop scam at 500 yards. These are basic thinking and survival skills, and kids don't receive that training, which "liberal" educators have reserved for collegians, and for thespians and would-be polemicists in particular.

I think only landowners should vote. Be they women or men.
