McCain was heavily criticised here on FR on a daily basis because he held your same view.
FWIW, a Google search reveals a “greg west melfa va” who posted repeatedly in support of Mitt Romney in various sites, locations, whatever.
I’m thinking this grudge has little to do with religion, and everything to do with a disgrunteled spammer for Romney.
[After reading that blog it appears this is a Christans vs Mormons fight. That brings up the point the this use to be just a political site. The religious seem to have started taking over.]
Unfortunately, you can’t separate religion from politics. Here in Las Vegas, we have corrupt Mormon Harry Reid, corrupt Mormon convert Dario Herrera (now in jail), corrupt Mormon airport director Randy Walker. Trust me, I know a lot about what goes on here and it isn’t pretty. So, that is one reason I end up being tagged as a hater, though I’ve gone through quite a lot that would make you wonder.
“That brings up the point the this use to be just a political site. The religious seem to have started taking over. . “
I submit that there is no such thing as “just political.” Our religion informs our political views. As such, it’s going to come up from time to time.
That appears to translate, "Hey, let's have the irreligious have full control."
Let them fight their religious battles on some other site. We've got the democrats and MSM to fight here.
Have you ever noticed that the song by the American idol winner, "Jesus, take the wheel" isn't played only Christian radio stations? I tell you that hatchet-wielding (hatchet as a symbol) people trying to forever sever faith from the public square have been more dangerous in annals of history than others.
Besides, I'd like for Jesus to take the wheel of my cultural priorities, too: "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." (Luke 12:4-5)
Hence, has Jesus issued primary warnings about political opponents? (No) He says our #1 respect is to be what can happen in the afterlife.
Is that anything like the Mormons who accuse everyone who objects to Mitts liberal political positions as being opposed to him simply because he's Mormon?
